Just in time for Christmas 2012, Ocean County Chapter raised 25% of the funds needed to purchase an Ultrasound Machine for The Open Door Pregnancy Care Center in Toms River, NJ.  Twelve Councils from Ocean County pitched in money raised through various activiities such as the Baby Bottle Boomerang and Roses For Life State Program to meet the Chapter goal of $7,125.00

The New Jersey State Council matched the Chapter amount with a check for $7,125.00  which was in turn matched by a check from the Supreme Council in the amount of $14,250.00.

The Chapter also raised funds towards the installation and training of The Open Door's medical staff.

This marks the 6th Ultrasound Machine placed by the Knights of Columbus at a Pregnancy Care Center in New Jersey under State Deputy Dan Rossi.

Nationwide, the efforts of local Councils, Assemblies, Chapters, Federations, State Councils and the Supreme Council, has resulted in the placement or in-process purchase, of 319 ultrasound machines throughout the United States - as of January 31, 2013.

The placement of this particular machine was vital to the saving of the life of the unborn.  The Open Door Pregnancy Care Center is located a short 9 minte walk from a notorius abortion facility in Toms River.
