
PSD Tom Ciborski led a contingent of 24 Knights, Ladies, Family members and Friends into the 39 degree Atlantic Ocean on March 6, 2010, raising money for NJ Special Olympics. State Deputy Herb Meyer was in attendance, cheering the team on to glory. The team consisted of the following brave, yet foolish, souls: Thomas Ciborski, PSD; Robert Booth, FDD; Antonio Branco; Matthew Ciborski; Andrew Closson; Carey-Anne DeVries; Erin DeVries; Thomas DeVries; Michael Failla; James Floyd; John Gazis, DD; Michael Hencinsky, FDD; Mark Kimble; Linda LaStella; Ann Meyer; Janice Moore; Leonard Piscetelli; Dr Daniel Rossi, State Treasurer; Robert Rushnak; Dr Andrew Savicky, FDD; Tyler Veth; Irene Wernke; Paul Wernke, GK. The Penguins raised over $15, 000 this year, and more money is still to be collected. Congratulations Polar Penguins. After the Plunge, the team headed over to the Parish Center of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish for a hot lunch supplied in a joint effort by Councils 8415, 7926 and Assembly 2143. Plans are being made for next years Plunge, with hopes for more Penguins to join the colony. |
