The State Finals of the 2009 Free Throw Tournament was held on Saturday, March 28, at Msgr Dalton Hall, Our Lady of Victory Parish Ctr, Sayreville. Ten winners from each of the 5 Diocese in NJ were invited to compete, 5 girls and 5 boys, aged 10 -14. The winners of each round received a trophy from State Treasurer Wayne McCormack, and James Poltrictzky, DD and State Chairman. State Deputy Thomas Ciborski congratulates the winners listed below, who now advance to the Interantional Round of the Tournament. The Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge is a competition designed for players to demonstrate the most basic of soccer skills — the penalty kick. Each player will be allowed fifteen shots at the goal from the penalty line, earning points from different scoring zones on a specially marked goal. The Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge is sponsored annually, with winners progressing through local, district, and state competitions.
